Sundance Film Festival
Chris and I ventured up to the Sundance Film Festival a week ago to wander around and attempt to spot celebrities. We went last year but didn't see anyone famous, which surprised me! The air quality gets pretty terrible in the valley at this time of year so a break in the mountains is a must for us. It's fun to walk up and down Main Street checking out the people and activities, especially because everyone stares at everyone else looking to find someone famous! I think most of the celebrities stick to the theatre areas. During the day, there are many places one can go to listen to free music, eat free food, and people watch. (We always stop by the MorningStar Farms Veggie Burger Bar for a free meal!) It's very difficult to get tickets to films, but maybe next year we can score some. This year, we tried to waitlist Happy Christmas, but all 200 spots were filled within seconds of the waitlist opening! Since we failed with that, our main goal was to snag this year's reusable plastic water bottle. We were filmed in a Sundance Channel commercial last year and got bottles out of the deal. We also had to work a little for the bottles again this year, but it was worth it! (And again--no celeb spottings. But we saw lots of paparazzi waiting for celebs to show up.) Warning: This is a very picture heavy post! :)
Chris and I were stopped by people shooting a promo for Lay's Chips since they were one of the sponsors of Sundance this year. We were asked to pick our favorite film and then to describe a flavor of chip that goes with the film. It was REALLY hard for us to choose, especially for me! Chris picked Castle in the Sky, and I picked Legally Blonde. I went with a movie that I love watching over and over again. It was a little terrifying being filmed, but we got our water bottles out of it!
(The cameraman snapped the photos of me!)
Here's what we wore! It was fun for me to think of a cute outfit to wear. Chris looked pretty dapper himself, so I convinced him to be in front of the camera for once! ;)
