Shiny & striped
By the time you are reading this, I will have hopefully submitted my general examination to my Ph.D. committee! (I mean, I have to submit it today nonetheless...) I give my oral presentation a week from today, and you could say that I'm slightly freaking out about it, haha. That's definitely an understatement. The general examination isn't what you probably think of when you hear the word "exam"; it's more of a research proposal. I still need to fully understand everything I've been doing up until this point, though, and that's the scary part; my research involves a LOT of difficult math!
This outfit was of course inspired by a look I shared in my most recent Outfit Obsessions post. I saw that pin and immediately knew I had to wear something like that with my new oxfords! Aren't they just so pretty? I couldn't stop talking about how pretty they were all day, haha! I do need to mention though that they did kill my feet; I never bled (phew!), but I did have a couple of spots rubbed raw and just pain in general. I was expecting that for the first wear, and hopefully they will loosen up some more. I'm actually thinking about buying some trouser socks to wear with them... I kind of really like this look!
