Eco-friendly chambray
As I mentioned in my June budget, my boyfriend, Chris, and I both donated old, ratty clothes to H&M for recycling. In exchange for the donation, we received coupons good for 20% off a future purchase. That day, we walked around but nothing struck our fancy. Our coupons expired at the end of June, so we stopped in again at the end of the month. I was looking for a black maxi skirt I had seen online, but I don't think my store carried it...or at least it was hidden VERY well. I ended up spotting a few things on the rack I wanted to try, one of them being this dress. I have to say that it was instant love when I put this on (even though I had grabbed a size too small). I never thought I could rock a shirt dress, let alone a chambray shirt dress! It's so lightweight and perfect for summer. The best part about it, though, is the fact that it is part of H&M's Conscious line and is made up of lyocell. Even though H&M is primarily fast fashion, I applaud them for their commitment to a more sustainable future.
For a quick stop at the grocery store, I paired my dress with my old fisherman sandals from American Eagle. This is the first time I'm wearing them this year, and thanks to Nicole I've been inspired to think up new outfits with them. I quite liked this pairing. Even though I kept the overall look simple, I completed it with my Coach bag and pretty earrings.
