Little red dress
Well, here it is: the last summer outfit of the year! (Even though it's going to be in the upper 80s-lower 90s all weekend...shhh! I know fall will come eventually!) I took my red silk dress out for a spin to celebrate my birthday, which ended up being on the autumnal equinox this year. I love this dress, but I have to be really careful not to get food all over myself since it is silk! I only have two silk items (my dark floral skirt is also silk), and I think that's enough for me for now since they are kind of high maintenance.
I absolutely adore the color of the dress and decided to make it the focal point by keeping my accessories neutral. I did feel the need to add statement earrings though--how could I not?! (I know I'm obsessed.) I topped the look off with my army green jacket even though I only wore it in the morning because by the afternoon, the temperature had already creeped up to the mid-80s. We're having temperature swings of 20 to 30 degrees every day, and it makes dressing for the day rather difficult!
