Songs to make you smile
Mentally, I haven't had the best past couple of days. My brain has been consumed with negative thoughts that spiral into even more negativity if I let myself (and sometimes it's hard to stop once you start). Anyone else have days like that? It sucks. But it's life for me. I've found that listening to peppy, upbeat music puts me in a better mood, so I put together a quick playlist featuring some of my favorite songs to cheer myself up. They're almost all pop songs—no surprise there, I think! Hope you enjoy and maybe find a new favorite. :)

One thing I love to do with my wardrobe is mix and match a bunch of old pieces to make a new outfit. The cardigan, dress, and boots in today's look are all at least two years old. (I've had the dress for three years—since I started this blog, basically! Though I'm not sure how much longer I'll have it since the shorter hemline feels too young for my aging self...) Since style blogging is basically becoming another industry where it feels like you always need the latest things, I think it's important to repurpose what you already have and try not to get sucked into the mindset of always needing new or better. You know? I say this now but just wait and see my budget post when it goes up next week...ha!
