Brand loyalty
Do you ever put together an outfit and then realize after the fact that it's made up entirely (or almost entirely) of pieces from the same brand? That happens to me fairly often with one brand in particular: Madewell. I'm sure it's surprising to no one that it's my go-to for nearly everything. I searched my Stylebook app and found that I own three tees, five shirts, six sweaters, a cardigan, two dresses, two skirts, six pairs of jeans/pants, a vest, a jacket, a coat, three pairs of shoes, a belt, a scarf, a necklace, and a pair of earrings all from Madewell. That's 35 items from the same brand and a sizable chunk of my ~200-item closet (here is my most recent closet inventory). You could say I'm truly a Madewell lady at heart. ;) (But seriously: If you haven't tried their denim yet, I highly recommend it!)
I mean, it makes sense that items from the same brand would work well together. I could make a capsule wardrobe out of only Madewell items and it would be cohesive. Tell me I can only shop from one brand and I would likely pick Madewell because of that! As much as I love being loyal to one brand, though, it's nice to have a variety. I am always inspired by the outfits made up of pieces by a few different brands that somehow work together so effortlessly. That's always what I strive for with my outfits.
As far as this outfit goes, navy + grey + dark red/burgundy is my jam. I need to think up more outfits with this color combination!
