In search of snow
A couple of weeks ago, I was back in my hometown for the long Thanksgiving weekend. There was quite a chill in the air while I was there, but the valley had yet to see snow. My boyfriend—a lover of winter and especially skiing—was dying to find some snow, so we drove into the mountains to sneak a peek at the white stuff. I have to admit that while I'm generally not a fan of snow (I hate it when the roads are nasty), it was quite beautiful to see the trees coated in snow, and the sunset cast an especially dreamy glow on the white mountainsides. Afterwards, we stopped for a mocha (his) and hot chocolate (mine)—necessary wintertime goodies!
I was prepared more for rain than for snow since I didn't plan on seeing snow during my trip, so for our jaunt I paired my yellow Hunter boots with my black, green, and yellow plaid flannel shirt. Instead of wearing my typical skinny jeans, I threw on a black skirt and finished the look with fleece-lined leggings (a necessity in the coldest months), a thick scarf, and gloves. Even though we didn't spend any time frolicking through the snow except to take these photos, I sure did look the part at least! ;)
