Wear to Where: Memorial Day weekend

I am so excited to be participating in the Wear to Where spring/summer blog tour hosted by Katy of Wild & Wanderful and Angelica of Gardening in High Heels. The idea is that sewing and fashion (or style in my case) bloggers come together to style outfits for various spring/summer occasions. I decided to put together an outfit for a summer BBQ or other party, and the timing couldn't be perfect as Memorial Day is on Monday!

Since Memorial Day is the unofficial kickoff to summer, I decided to pull out my white denim for my pretend BBQ in the park. (I just wore this for a day of working at my desk. #gradstudentlife) In an ideal world, I'd wear them with a tank top because the tank keeps me cool in the sun while the jeans keep me from freezing if there is a light breeze. (Of course, on this pretend day, the temperature would be a perfect mid-70s.) Comfy sandals are ideal for running around playing games.

What would you wear for a summer BBQ, or what are you planning to wear for the Memorial Day events you have planned? I've got absolutely nothing planned other than a girls night watching The Bachelorette, and I'm actually quite excited about it.
