If there's one thing I learned from living in places with long, hot summers, it's that I don't like to have things near my neck when it's scorching outside. There's basically no way in hell that I'm wearing a scarf, even if it is of the lightweight variety. (Ignoring the fact that warm-weather scarves aren't really my thing in the first place.) Since becoming a style blogger and getting more into statement jewelry, I also realized that I can't really stand wearing statement necklaces in the heat, either. I sweat instantly and that's not pleasant. Most days, I wear my hair up, too. 

Because of that, I love pulling out my statement earrings in the summer. They're perfect for adding a little glam element to my outfits without making me uncomfortable in the heat. These sparkly black beauties were the perfect finishing touch to this otherwise basic outfit.
