Layered sweaters
You know it's winter when you've doubled up with the sweaters! I can't deal with the cold right now, so I'm all about layering my thinner sweaters under cozy cardigans for extra warmth. I'm doing everything I can to not run my space heater the whole time I'm at work. ;) (Side note: Space heaters are the best invention ever! ...after heated blankets, of course.)
I haven't been wearing a whole lot of jewelry lately. When I'm in a rush in the morning, it's easier to just through on a sweater and jeans and go to work without thinking about any accessories. When I put on this sweater and cardigan, it felt like it needed something more. The long cardigan draws the eye down, so I opted to wear a pendant necklace since it has the same effect. In the past, sometimes it felt like I had to "force" an accessory or piece of jewelry just because I thought an outfit needed interest. It's nice to add a necklace to an outfit without forcing it to work, you know? It just felt right!
Normally when I want to wear these boots, I opt for ankle-length pants so there's no weird bunching at the ankle. This time, I decided to mix things up and double cuff my go-to legging jeans. The cuff gives them a "peg leg" look and feel, but I'm not 100% sure about it; I'm used to the sleeker look of the ankle-length jeans! It was fun to try something different, though. :)
