Vintage pink chenille
I couldn’t even tell you the last time I wore chenille. It’s been decades, I’m pretty sure. It just started trending again this year, right? I haven’t missed an entire season or two of the chenille comeback, have I? I wasn’t even planning on adding a chenille garment to my collection right now—I like weighing my options (sometimes for way too long) before making purchases, plus I’ve gone kind of overboard buying new things recently—but I walked into H&M to donate a bag of ratty clothes and other textiles for recycling and walked out with this sweater.
The crazy part is how much I love this sweater. (The balloon sleeves! *heart eyes*) Usually, after making an impulse purchase, I instantly feel buyer’s remorse. I was actually waiting for it to hit while walking out of the mall, but nope…! I was originally going to save the sweater for apple picking this weekend, but then I remembered that I probably shouldn’t wear a nice, brand new sweater to an orchard full of branches and other spiky/dirty things. I ended up wearing it to work last week with this outfit. I kept the look streamlined with dark wash denim and navy flats (kitties, of course!). The monochrome bottom half kept the focus on this vintage pink sweater.
H&M is revamping their sizing to align more with American brands, so I tried on XS in store since that’s my usual size in American brands. The XS fit, but it was a little more snug than I prefer and the arms were short, so I bought size small. Love it, love it! This beauty will be a staple all fall, winter, and spring.
