Harrison Boulevard is what some Boiseans would consider the heart of the North End neighborhood. It’s lined with absolutely beautifully constructed historic homes and some of the largest (and most vibrant) trees in town. It would be a dream to live on this street! Harrison is also the place to be on Halloween, if you ever happen to be in Boise over Halloween. ;) I grew up in Boise, so it’s extremely weird that I’ve never experienced a Halloween on Harrison Boulevard. Apparently thousands of people show up and the street is closed. We shot these photos just before Halloween, and there were already a number of orange cones in the median ready to be placed on the big day!

We ended up a few streets over—in Hyde Park on 13th Street—for fun afternoon activities, but couldn’t resist the fall colors happening over on Harrison. It was another gorgeous fall day even though it was overcast. So many families strolled down Harrison, taking photos of every tree as they passed. Can you blame them? :)

I wore a more subtle burgundy and olive outfit combination featuring my new authentic stretch high-rise skinny jeans by Everlane (did you catch my recent review?). Loden is such a gorgeous color that I did not even realize existed until Everlane released it in their cashmere sweater collection. Even though loden could be considered a neutral because it goes with basically any other color, it doesn’t feel boring at all. I can get bored quite easily with my fall/winter wardrobe after weeks of wearing the same sweaters and jeans, so it’s nice to have some color besides ivory and grey.

My new jeans were comfortable to not only walk and stand in but to sit in, too! Plus, they didn’t bag out at all. Win/win! They paired perfectly with my shiny boss boots (but what doesn’t pair with those boots?! Ha!). To be honest, I’m not crazy about how the bag looks with the rest of the outfit and wish I had photographed this without the bag. I’m not sure if it’s the pebbled leather near the shiny boots or the gold hardware, but it’s doesn’t look quite right to me. Ah well!

P.S. Did you see the squirrel in one of the photos?

P.P.S. Get out and VOTE on November 6th!!!
