Cat mom jeans
Last month was the first month that I didn't share a monthly budget update since I started keeping track in early 2014. I decided to change to a quarterly budget update because last fall, I reduced the number of posts I publish every month. It turned out that you didn't miss much; in January, I only added two items to my wardrobe, and I was able to spend credit on both. I'm honestly surprised it turned out that way because I wasn't even intending to shop less!
One of the two additions was this pair of jeans from Everlane. They released a new light wash last month, so I ordered the modern boyfriend jeans to try since I heard such good things from others. They truly do not disappoint. I am surprised by how much I adore them! I'm even considering ordering them in multiple colors/washes—that's how good they are. I think the lighter washes aren't nearly as stiff as the darker washes (my black skinny jeans are much less stretchy). I could wear these every day! I ended up going a size down (from 25, which is what I got in the skinny jeans, to 24) based on reviews and am happy I did. They fit loose on the leg like a true boyfriend style without feeling super baggy. The waist does run slightly large but they aren't falling off.
I debuted my new "mom jeans" (which I call my "cat mom jeans", naturally) last week with my cozy, classic cable knit sweater and simple ankle boots. I almost didn't go for black boots because I didn't want them to look out of place with the ivory sweater and light wash denim, but I think the natural wood heel helps them not look so heavy.
