Work to weekend: Earth Ibiza slide sandals
I'm back with my second "work to weekend" post in collaboration with Earth Brands! On Wednesday, I shared my first post featuring the multicolored Tierra sandals. Today's work to weekend look features the Earth Ibiza slide sandals! I was honestly surprised by how much I was drawn to these sandals considering I'm not the biggest fan of the slide trend...or am I? ;) These shoes may have just changed my mind! The amber color is a perfect neutral, and the perforations keep them easy breezy. Per usual, these sandals are extremely comfortable, even with a heel. I took these sandals in my usual size 7, but I could have probably taken them in a 6.5 because my feet can sometimes slide out of them.
The outfit I wore to work came together in a very impromptu manner one morning. I started with the shoes, added the jeans, and knew I wanted to wear this blazer...so then I picked a fun top to layer under the blazer for some interest. This striped lace-up top has been a staple in my wardrobe since I bought it, and it has been especially key since I started my job last summer. (I even featured it in my summer 10x10!)
Even though the shoes don't match the bag perfectly, they still go together well enough that it doesn't look too weird to me. ;) I've been focusing on branching out of my typical matchy-matchy tendencies, and seeing as how nothing in this outfit really matches, I think I'm doing a decent job! I could definitely see myself repeating this outfit throughout the spring, summer, and even fall—if the weather agrees!

For my weekend look, I knew I wanted to pair these shoes with my new Everlane kick crop jeans in bone. Even though I will likely also wear these jeans to work at some point, the frayed hems read more casual than my jeans with finished hems. (I'm actually considering cutting the hems about an inch since they're slightly longer than I thought they would be on me and aren't true crop jeans.) It was an absolutely gorgeous day when I wore this look; I tagged along with my boyfriend and my dad to the spring football game and forgot my jacket, but I ended up not being too cold (the breeze was a bit chilly at times, but the sunshine was amazingly warm!).
I'm quickly discovering that slide sandals are the perfect "throw-on-and-go" shoe style. I mean, duh... but also, why did I not give them a chance until now? Anything to make my life easier in the morning—whether it be on a weekday morning or on a weekend morning—is a winner in my book. These sandals may just be the gateway I need to add some more pairs of slide sandals in my life! Are you a fan of slide sandals?
