Tiered
The trees are finally blooming around here, as you can see behind me! I couldn't be happier to see signs of spring cropping up. And, you know, nothing says "SPRING!" quite like wearing black...and grey...but at least I'm not clashing with the color of the flowers and other foliage, right? Hahaha.
Since purchasing this black cropped voluminous sweater a few months ago, I've had fun wearing it with a variety of different tops to make it work-appropriate. I've previously worn it with a long-sleeved black and white striped tee, with a collared sleeveless white blouse, and with a long-sleeved black peplum top. I'm obviously no stranger to a good monochromatic look, so I paired this sweater with my black layered-look tank top and love the tiered effect going on! It kind of has the look of ruffles without being ruffles (similar to the outfit featuring the peplum top).
Blue denim seemed like the obvious choice, so instead, I finished the look with grey denim and my shiny black oxfords for a touch of masculinity. One of my favorite styling tricks is to do a single cuff of these jeans for contrast. It adds a little something extra without taking away from the rest of the look or making it too busy.
