Everlane reviews: Slim classic French terry crew, kick crop jeans, modern boyfriend jeans
Out of all of my shopping so far this year (which hasn't been too much, surprisingly), the majority of it has been at Everlane. They keep releasing items that I find myself wishing I had. Ha! This review post features my latest purchases: a comfy crewneck sweatshirt and two pairs of jeans (one kick crop and one boyfriend). I'm planning on placing another order or two soon... It's an addiction! If you're new to Everlane and sign up for an account with my referral link, you’ll get 10% off your first purchase, and I'll earn a credit and be forever grateful for your support!
For sizing reference, I am typically a size XS/0/25 at J.Crew, Madewell, LOFT, Anthropologie, Gap, and Banana Republic. I wear a size 4-6 in H&M and its sister stores (depending on the item). For stores that use juniors sizing, such as Forever 21 and ModCloth, I am usually a size small. My Uniqlo size is either XS or small (again, depending on the item). Everlane includes garment measurements for each item, which I find incredibly helpful when it comes to determining the right size to buy. The Slim Classic French Terry Crew (bone, size S)
In an effort to start updating my loungewear (and, you know, get free shipping on my order #priorities), I bought this sweatshirt. I believe that it's one of Everlane's original products. It's available in a bunch of colors, which I'm tempted to get after buying this one in bone! I debated for way too long between size XS and size small, and I ended up choosing the latter for a looser fit and just in case it shrinks a bit in the wash. Even though it's slightly oversized in the body, the sleeve length is perfect for my long arms. I usually wear this sweatshirt on the weekends because it's more casual, but I have worn it to work and didn't feel underdressed. It's a perfect basic sweatshirt—what more could you want?! ;) I just have to be careful with foods and things that can stain it!
How I wore it: with a camel coat, with sneakers, with a striped tee and trench coat
The Kick Crop Jeans (bone, size 25)
I purchased these jeans with the French terry crew above, thinking that I may want to wear them together, but that hasn't happened (yet). I was so excited to add a different denim style to my fairly one-note denim collection—and in the almost-white bone color to mix things up. I ordered my size in the skinny jeans. These have a 10.5" rise but feel a lot higher than my modern boyfriend jeans (below). It might be because they're more snug all around, and I'm not totally used to such a high rise. When I first got them, they felt tight around my hips and stomach, but then after getting sick and losing some weight, I've had issues where the front kind of bunches up. (Do you know what I mean? It's hard to explain.) They seem to fit fine other than that so I don't know what happened...? I wish the inseam was 0.5-1" shorter, but I'm borderline petite so they'd probably work if you're average height. I might trim them, but I'm scared to cut my clothes! Haha. I appreciate that the light color isn't see through but the front pockets are slightly noticeable/bunchy. All in all, I'm glad I picked these up and so far the fit issue hasn't affected me wearing them that much. The only problem is that I keep staining them, gah!
How I wore it: with a clay-colored tank, with the air ruched blouse, with stripes and a light jacket, with navy and slide sandals
The Modern Boyfriend Jeans (light blue wash, size 24)
This is my new favorite pair of jeans! I honestly didn't believe the hype around this particular style until I got a pair myself. They're so easy to wear. They fit comfortably loose in a size down from my usual and aren't stiff at all. (In these photos, I had just washed them to "shrink up" the loose legs after wearing them a few times, and they're stiff after air drying like all my other pairs of jeans. I don't put any of my jeans in the dryer.) The 10" rise isn't constricting. I wish they were maybe an inch shorter if I were to be picky, and sometimes the front can fit a little baggy (but it doesn't seem as bad as the kick crop jeans). If you were to get only one pair of Everlane denim, this would be the pair I'd suggest. I'm even considering ordering the mid blue color! I'd recommend sizing down one if you can if you don't want them to slide off your hips.
How I wore it: with vote merch, with a camel coat and sneakers, with the ReNew raglan sweatshirt, with stripes and sandals, with red cashmere, with a cable knit sweater
