Downtown during the holiday season is one of my favorite places to be! I ran a few errands downtown this past weekend and didn’t even mind being in the cold. I enjoyed taking in the holiday season sights and smells (good smells, of course—a variety of food!). I actually had plans to shoot this outfit somewhere else (I’ve been scoping out the cute, festive decor) but couldn’t resist the evening light against the city and the snowy foothills. We listened to the clomping of a horse-drawn carriage on the streets below and watched as the sun set below the horizon. It’s times like these that I really appreciate the city we call home. :)

Anyway—the outfit! I wanted to feel super festive, so I pulled out all the holiday things: a bright red cashmere sweater, velvet boots, and tartan scarf to top it off. I mixed it up with my demi-boot jeans instead of typical skinny jeans and love how it all came together. My parka kept me super cozy; giant coat pockets really are the best, aren’t they?! Soon enough I’ll need gloves, too…but hopefully not for a while! It’s been a weird, warm-ish end of fall.
