Puffy and Plaid
It’s my final outfit post of 2019 and of the decade…what! It’s crazy that I’ve been doing this for a little over six years now. You saw me start out in grad school—working on my Master’s—and then I went on to my PhD and finally a job in the real world! How has time flown that quickly?! I can’t think about it for too long or else I start to feel overwhelmed, haha. ;) It’s time now to think about my goals/resolutions for the new year…!
I recently purchased this packable, lightweight puffer coat from Madewell. I picked navy because I wanted a coat I could wear to Boise State athletic events and blend in a bit more with the school colors. It is also available in a gorgeous kale color and a bright clay color similar to my Everlane puffy puff (black was also available and may pop back!). This coat is super lightweight but still warm, and it even packs down into a travel pillow! I haven’t tried that feature yet but I plan to next time I travel someplace warm when it’s cold here at home. The coat features a slight A-line shape, and the waist cinches in to prevent cool air from sneaking in. PLUS, it’s made from recycled polyester, which I think is pretty cool.
I wore the coat with a base outfit of a plaid flannel shirt (which has a hint of blue in the plaid), skinny jeans that I’ve had for years, and my beloved navy Kitty flats. It’s casual (like usual for me) and great for a not-too-cold winter day with the bare ankles and feet!
