Summer tease
It’s just about the middle of May and here I am in an outfit that you’d usually find me wearing in the middle of July! A well-above-average, mid-80-degree day was the perfect opportunity to break out this sleeveless linen blend top I picked up from Uniqlo. I ended up paying full price plus shipping for it, so you know that means it’s good! It’s super roomy in the midsection and I’m a huge fan of the saturated green. Gimme all the green! Since it’s on the longer side, I paired it with my longer denim shorts from Everlane. The beige sandals allow the top to be the stand out piece.
Like any other linen or linen blend garment, this top wrinkles easily as you can see. I steamed it before wearing but it got rumpled up pretty quickly once I put it on and started…you know, living. C’est la vie! I had to get over the wrinkle factor quickly when I started wearing linen regularly. It’s just something you expect to happen, and it’s part of what gives linen that charming, "lived in” look. It’s also just about the only fabric I can stand to wear in the heat of summer, haha. I’m glad I had an opportunity to break out this top before summer really sets in!
