This is my third summer dressing myself for a real work environment, and I’ve figured out the top two outfit elements that keep me cool while still looking presentable: linen and loose-fitting pants (bonus if they’re loose-fitting linen pants). This nearly-all-Everlane outfit combines those elements with the linen tee and straight leg crop pants, the latter of which I recently received in partnership with Everlane. (To say this is a dream collaboration come true would be a huge understatement. I’m sure you know by now that I’ve been a fan of Everlane since their early years. Thank you so much for your readership and interest in what I wear!)

The straight leg crop pants are the equally-as-hip younger sister of the wide leg crop pants. I own the short version of the wide leg crop pants in ochre (reviewed here), and they’re one of the most comfortable pairs of pants I own. Since I’ve worn skinny pants for so long, the width definitely took some getting used to, and the straight leg crops are the perfect in-between if you’re not quite sure of the wide leg crops. I used to own a pair of pants in surplus and have missed having that color in my wardrobe, so I picked the straight leg pants in surplus—you know how much I’ve been loving all the shades of green! Surplus is a great neutral for my wardrobe. I loved adding a bit more color with my (sadly, old and no longer available) striped linen tee in indigo.

I took these pants in my usual size 0; several reviews suggested sizing down, but I didn’t and wouldn’t recommend sizing down if you’re prone to bloating like I am. ;) This is the short length but I’m curious to know where the regular length would have fallen on me. The cotton fabric is on the thicker side, but I definitely don’t mind wearing them on warm days if I won’t be outside for long. They allow for airflow because they don’t hug the legs. The pants are available in seven colorways, and most of them are available in short. I just noticed that a lightweight version is coming out in late July, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t have my eyes on those next!
