Warm Tones
Here’s a new outfit to kick off the new decade/year/month! How has your 2020 been treating you so far? Ours has gotten off to a slow start—we still have our Christmas tree and decorations up, our house is a mess in general, and we’re just kind of taking things easy for now. Our tree hasn’t totally dried out yet but I imagine it might be coming down this upcoming weekend unless the weather is bad and then maybe we’ll push it to the weekend after, haha.
The college gymnastics season started this past weekend (I’m playing fantasy gymnastics for the first time this season), and the new season of The Bachelor started tonight (#drama), so we’ll be busy with those for the rest of winter. ;) It’s always nice to have something to look forward to, especially since winter is my least favorite season weather-wise. (Of course, Korri is thrilled that the Seahawks are still alive in the playoffs!)
I wore this outfit on a beautiful 60°F day that we had at the end of December. It was actually the first full day of winter—and it was absolutely unreal to have that kind of warmth! Korri and I went for a walk along the river without coats and I was sweating by the end. People were out everywhere walking, running, and biking. The air actually felt warm. It was amazing!
I went out to dinner that evening with my family and paired my new Aquatalia waterproof boots with my wide leg pants. These boots though!!! I love them so much. They’re so comfortable…plus they’re waterproof! I’m a bigger fan of the sock boot look than I thought I would be. I plan to wear them with all my non-skinny jeans/pants. Highly recommend snatching them right now because they’re on sale and not too many sizes are left! I also wore my new textured cotton sweater from Everlane (also on sale!). I think I would have preferred the look a little more had the sweater been a little more cropped in length. I did eat BBQ ribs without getting any sauce on it or my pants so I call that a win! ;)
