You win some, you lose some

This is one of those outfits that looked better in my head than it did in action. I thought it all out the night before and knew it would be what I put on the next morning. Being that I now have class in the morning, if I don't roll out of bed when my alarm goes off, I have to rush to get ready in order to leave on time. That meant I put this on without really looking at it before running out the door. Something about the patterns and the color of my tights don't really do it for me...

It's hard having "off" days now that I have a fashion blog. I want every outfit to be blog worthy, whatever that is supposed to mean (though, let's face it, there are some days I don't care as much, and those are the outfits that don't get photographed). I'm not doing this to become a famous blogger or whatever. Having this blog means I put more effort into how I look for the sake of getting to document it and later reflect on the evolution of my style. I try not to put too much pressure on myself when creating outfits because it doesn't REALLY matter that much if an outfit is "perfect" to everyone else's standards. I'm just super hard on myself, and if an outfit doesn't match my standards, I don't want to post it. This outfit almost didn't get posted. But here's proof that I am human and make mistakes and sometimes what I put together doesn't work as well as I'd hoped!

On a related note, it's interesting for me to see how other people respond to my outfits. I use Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest to share blog posts/pictures, and I also upload photos to ModCloth's Style Gallery (you can find me here). It's interesting to see how many "loves" I get on each outfit I post, because sometimes I get really excited for one and it's not nearly as "loved" as I thought it would be. Or vice versa: a so-so outfit for me gets many "loves"! It just goes to show how fashion is interpreted differently by different people, and everyone has different tastes. (Either that or I look much more terrible than I thought I did! Haha.)
