Basically a rectangle with pockets
That's exactly what this dress is. Chris made that comment when we were halfway through taking these pictures, and I had to laugh because he's right. When it's not being worn, it's literally just a rectangle of fabric with hidden side pockets and a slight curvature for sleeves. It's also extremely short, which is why I don't wear it to school. We don't have a dress code (that I know of, at least...), but I like to be a little bit more conservative. Even though I don't feel like I am treated differently because I am a woman in a STEM field, and I wear basically whatever I want, I don't want to give anyone a reason to treat me differently. Ultimately, I feel most comfortable in skirts and dresses that cover more leg (and that aren't quite so tight). On the weekends, though? ALL THE LEG. Especially when I'm inside most of the day trying not to melt. It's a no-pants central.
In other news, we've been having so much car trouble lately. It all started in April. We got the initial issue resolved, but I guess it never was actually fixed. We are very lucky that the car got us to South Dakota and back without ANY problems. Now it's one thing after another and I'm worried that I'll go broke or the car will stop working altogether or, worse...both. That's the problem with older cars. Please send us all of the good vibes you have that this latest issue will be the last for a LONG time!
