Peplum and plaid
It was annoyingly windy during this and the last outfit photo session. I think wind is my least favorite weather phenomenon. In the summer, it may be sunny and hot, but at least you can find shade. If it's windy? Nothing you can do about that, and yes, you will wear a skirt or dress without realizing that it's going to be windy all afternoon (...just me?). In the cooler months, you can push through the cold... unless it's windy! Then good luck! Haha. Oh, and your hair becomes a mess no matter what. Let's just say that I have plenty of bloopers to choose from for the next outfit outtakes post. #bloggerproblems
I digress. In the fall and winter, I'd say my most worn pattern is plaid. I basically live in either plaid flannel shirts or cozy sweaters during the cooler months. When it comes to my outerwear, I tend to go as neutral as possible so the pieces go with any of my outfits without clashing. This plaid coat was somewhat of an impulse purchase made last December, but I've been surprised by how much wear it has gotten. I think it's because it's a simple black and white pattern... I mean, how can it not go with pretty much any solid color, right? I especially love it paired with this black peplum top. This exact coat isn't available anymore, but I couldn't narrow down to only one similar coat, so if you're looking to add some plaid to your own coat collection, I found a few similar coats at varying price points and linked 'em below!
