September Total = $125
$400 (quarterly budget) - $125 (September) = $275 left for October and November
You may have noticed that I decreased my quarterly budget from $450 down to $400. That's mostly because of the fact that my rent went up in addition to having a car payment and the expense that comes along with being in a long distance relationship. I haven't been doing a whole lot of shopping lately, so I have faith that I can stick to it. (Famous last words, though, right?) I might be reevaluating it again come December.
This budget post looks a little more colorful than recent months thanks to that red sweater I picked up from & Other Stories. If you've been reading for a while, you may remember my red sweater from Gap; I ended up selling that sweater since it was a bit snug and itchy. While I definitely didn't need to add a bright red sweater to my wardrobe, I felt like my collection was getting a bit 'blah' and the red spices it up a bit. I ended up getting it in an XS which was the right choice; it fits a bit oversized but the sleeves are the perfect length. It's super cozy and I'm so tempted to pick it up in another color.
I added a new pendant necklace this month. I had been wishing I had more to pick from when I put together outfits, so this was an easy decision, especially since Amour Vert sent me a coupon. I love that Soko works with women in Kenya to make the jewelry and connect them to the world. I also picked up a plaid top from Madewell that I had been eyeing for a while. The mixed plaid patterns add such a fun touch when you roll up the sleeves. I was so glad to find it in store so I could try it on before buying since the reviews seemed mixed. I thought my usual XS fit really well—perfectly loose without looking sloppy—and I didn't find it to be tight around the bust at all.
I'm working with Earth Brands for my third time and my first time for the fall/winter. I was so excited that they sent me two pairs of shoes this time around! I adore both pairs of flats and, as usual, they're extremely comfortable. :) I got the navy 'Tolo' flats in a 7.5 (my usual J.Crew 'Cece' flat size) and the 'Bellwether' flats in a 7 (my usual size in most shoes).
Other items I want to add to my fall/winter wardrobe include black skinny jeans, a camel boyfriend-ish-style cardigan, and black tall boots. I'm also in the market for a nice dress to wear for a November wedding in the midwest. There will most definitely be a shopping post coming up about that since I will need all the help I can get!
