Fall midi
When the forecast called for a near-70°F day in October, I knew it was time to pull out my midi skirt one more time before the cold hits and stays for good. Even though the skirt style is more summery than autumnal, it's not super lightweight; it's lined and has some weight to it, so I thought it could transition into more mild fall (or spring) days fairly easily with the right top and shoes.
I ended up keeping it simple with my slim-fitting black sweater (makes for easy tucking and no weird bunching in the skirt waistband) and black patent Ferragamo 'Vara' pumps. I hadn't worn these pumps since my job interview because I was saving them for more "special" occasions, but I felt like wearing them with this outfit so here we are. Sometimes it's fun to play dress up even if all you have planned is a day of fighting with Excel. ;)
Seriously, though... I'm simultaneously glad I avoided working much in Excel all these years but also wish I had slightly more experience than making random—and admittedly very basic—spreadsheets when the mood strikes. There's so much more to that program than I thought! I guess you really do never stop learning once you're done with school, haha.
P.S. The stripes on this skirt are actually blue, but I like how they look grey or black here! Even in person they didn't look completely blue with this outfit. I've got a chameleon skirt apparently. ;)
