Dark tartan
It snowed in a big way over the weekend! Our first storm came Friday evening into Saturday morning, and the second swept through on Christmas Eve. I'm happy we had a white Christmas, but now the snow can go away. ;) Commuting to and from work every day is not fun when the roads are a mess! Let's hope I can make it through this winter...how many months to go?
How was your Christmas? To be honest, this holiday season hasn't felt as merry as it usually does. I think it's mostly because I was traveling for two weeks and because I didn't get two weeks off around Christmas and New Year's like I have my whole life until now. That said, I'd much rather spend my vacation time traveling at other times of year than take two weeks off around the end of the year. This is my new normal, so I have to get used to it!
This outfit is what I ended up wearing on Christmas Eve. My dad and step mom had a party at their house and it was low-key in terms of formality (read: no formality whatsoever). I debated whether or not to wear these jeans because they aren't my stretchiest pair and I was planning to stuff my face with delicious holiday food, but they ended up working out fine. As you probably guessed, I didn't wear the boots or scarf indoors, haha. They were much appreciated in the cold and snow outside, though!
The scarf is a new addition from J.Crew Factory, and I almost didn't get it! I was sent the wrong color in the original order and my replacement order was cancelled. As a last-ditch effort, I contacted J.Crew's help on Twitter and they managed to find me one in the warehouse and overnighted it to me. Such amazing customer service! I'm so happy I got it because it's a dream. It's a blanket disguised as a scarf and it's the best!
