I ended up keeping the J.Crew toothpick cords I ordered last month but was on the fence about since they aren't as skinny as I hoped they'd be. I figured they'd be a good option for winter workwear (can't believe I need to think about things like that, haha). I already have a blog outfit planned for them, so that's a good sign... Though I'm not really surprised about that because I still love my original pair of forest green toothpick cords and wouldn't have bought this pair if the original pair wasn't too tight on me!
The major purchase this month was my pair of Ferragamo 'Vara' pumps. I picked them up during the Shopbop sale and used the rest of my credit earned from my partnership last fall. I wanted to save the credit specifically for this exact purchase, and I'm so glad I did! I was very tempted by other less expensive items but knew that if I didn't buy these now, I probably would never get them unless another partnership opportunity arose. So, here they are! They're absolutely beautiful. I'm planning to wear them for one graduation event and also my dissertation defense (plus many other events to come!). I got my usual size 7 which I think will work well unless my feet swell too much (this is apparently a thing that happens to me that I never noticed until a couple of weeks ago, haha). I'm slightly worried about the regular width being too narrow for me.
I also grabbed some items from Grana using credit earned from referrals (if you haven't used my referral link, you can get 10% off your first order with it and I'll earn a credit). All three items ran true to size for me; check out my review post for more specific details on sizing and such! The jeans are a new favorite and I'm debating a second pair in another color...
I did make a purchase that unfortunately didn't make the cut: a burgundy velvet bomber jacket by AQUA. I was so excited about it, but it's huge on me in my usual size small (the brand fits more like juniors' sizing to me except for this jacket). It's listed on my Poshmark right now in case someone missed out, but it will likely be returned to Bloomingdale's. Bummed, but oh wellβthere will always be another jacket, right?
I really need to keep shopping light until I secure a post-grad job, but I've already got my eyes on some things next month. Everlane just released new linen items that I'm swooning over, and I made a purchase on Poshmark recently that will be included next month. I'll just be adding more to my own Poshmark and hoping I can counter any spending that does occur!
