With the start of my new job (!) this month, I impulse-bought the linen blazer because I don't have much in the way of workwear (luckily I can wear the majority of my tops as it is). I got it in my usual size 0, which fits pretty well (maybe slightly smaller than my navy blazer, but not enough to exchange). It does wrinkle with wear which is to be expected since it's linen!
I also picked up the light pink tee in my recent Everlane order, which included the wrong dress (see the review here). It's kind of an odd pink; in person it seems more beige than pink, but I like it for something a bit different. The box-cut tee is my favorite Everlane tee cut! I got it in my usual XS. I bought the linen sweater at the Lilly Pulitzer store in Key West. The store was closing and I grabbed this off the shelf. It's a great lightweight linen sweater! I got it in XS. I paid full price (and it was a total impulse), which is something I really don't like doing...but when on vacation? Lol. I'm not counting this in the total since I paid with money I earned from selling my furniture in Utah, but I'll still be keeping track of the cost-per-wear. I wore it for the final three days of our trip since I didn't have a long-sleeved layer so that made it worth it!
Now for the big one...the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I placed a few orders but also had quite a few issues (cancellations, wrong size received). The vest was one of the items I ordered that wasn't screwed up! I got in in size XS petite for a shorter length. Ever since I saw a similar item included in the sale last year, I was intrigued...so I snagged this one. It's not something I'd usually wear (turtleneck and a sleeveless sweater?), but I'm excited to wear it this fall and winter. I also ordered (and kept) another Natori 'Feathers' bra, a Zella sports bra, and another Kennebunk Home blanket (LOVE these).
I like my leather jacket, but I'd really prefer a different style, so I also ordered the black BlankNYC faux leather jacket in a size small. I received a size XS that was tagged small, so I'm waiting to buy another one because the XS is just too snug in the shoulders. I place an order every time the small comes back in stock and every time it gets cancelled...ugh. A pair of shiny black chelsea boots has also been on my wish list for a while, so I ordered both pairs available in the sale: the Treasure & Bond 'Easton' chelsea booties and the Marc Fisher 'Yommi' chelsea booties. My Treasure & Bond boots were cancelled in both size 7 and 7.5, but Nordstrom's amazing customer service overnighted me a pair of 7s when they became available again. The 7s are a bit too narrow for me so I'm waiting to see if the 7.5s come back in stock. I got the Marc Fisher boots in a 7.5 since most reviews suggested to size up. I like both pairs but I'm leaning towards the more expensive Marc Fisher boots since the leather is less wrinkly. I should have planned better for this sale, but oh well. I won't be surprised if I go over budget next month if I decide to keep the jacket and boots...!
