Palette pleaser
Happy October! I’m trying not to think about the fact that we only have three months left of 2018… This time of year always seems to fly by since there is so much going on with activities and holidays. I’m trying to focus on enjoying fall rather than trying to do too much. That said, we have talked about checking out a local apple orchard and carving pumpkins at some point this month! Do you have any fun activities planned?
In addition to the cooler weather that comes with the end of September/beginning of October, the color palette of this outfit has put me in quite the fall mood. Who knew I’d be such a fan of burgundy and rust together?! This outfit kind of happened by accident. I was planning outfits and pulled out this skirt since it’s the perfect color for fall. I was originally thinking I’d wear my black cropped sweater with it, but it felt too voluminous, so I threw on my burgundy cropped sweater and ended up loving the result. The combination feels bold but not too over-the-top.
Even though my Ferragamo ‘Vara’ pumps are one of my “nicer” pairs of shoes that I tend to save for special occasions, I pulled them out for this look to keep the look light but still grounded. I tried this on with ankle boots and with my black oxfords, too, but those pairs both seemed too clunky. I added the necklace to go with the hint of gold in the shoes. I will definitely be keeping this outfit in mind for future cool (but not cold—bare legs, you know) fall days!
