Twinkle toes
Welp, it’s suddenly the last day of November. It’s hard to believe we only have a month left of 2018! Now that Thanksgiving has passed, I’m all in on the holiday season and ready to wear all of my festive attire (which isn’t a lot, admittedly, haha). During this time of year, I’m drawn to all the tartan plaid (my favorite festive plaids are in this L.L.Bean flannel shirt and this J.Crew Factory scarf), my two red sweaters, luxe textures (corduroy, velvet, and faux fur), and sparkle from my head down to my toes.
I love pulling out my gold flats at any time of year, but it’s especially fun to wear them in December—as long as it’s not too cold or snowy! I wore them in late December last year with one of my plaid flannel shirts and my green corduroy pants. This time, I opted for a lighter, less literal iteration of a casual outfit for the holidays. I’m not typically drawn to a lighter color palette at this time of year, but I loved how this simple look came together. Can’t go wrong with an Everlane sweater paired with Everlane denim. ;) And I looove high-rise denim because I can wear all the cropped things without an extra layer!
I think my favorite part of the look (other than the shiny gold flats!) might be the waves in my hair—I don’t have those very often! Unfortunately, my hair does not hold curl unless it’s kept in braids for a while (and I can’t French braid my own hair, so it’s always only half wavy, haha). This is what the waves looked like the next day. On day two, the waves are still there but are noticeably more unruly. I’m planning a post detailing the (few) products I use on my hair and my hair care routine soon! I’ve been trying to improve how my hair looks…it’s definitely a work in progress.
