Capture it, remember it
Every fall, the immediate family on my mom’s side tries to get together to take family photos. It’s one of my favorite traditions; it’s so fun to look back on the photos—and see what everyone wore, of course! Jokes aside, I’ve come to appreciate taking annual photos. It’s harder to coordinate now that my mom and step dad live a state away, and it’s a bummer when Korri’s work schedule doesn’t align and he can’t make it. (I love getting photos of the two of us, too.) Thankfully, it worked out this year! My parents were in town last weekend so we had photos taken. I can’t wait to see them! Fingers crossed I like how I look… it’s hard when I don’t have control and can’t see what I look like haha!
When I dress for family photos, I try to look as timeless as possible. I realize that it’s impossible to truly look timeless because everything we wear is based on trends. This year, I chose my classic ivory cable knit sweater, dark skinny jeans, and olive green ankle boots for a little bit of color. I don’t like wearing too many layers or picking crazy color combinations. (Last year, I wore my rose-colored cashmere sweater, dark skinny jeans, and brown tall boots.) Simple is better. :)
Do you have an extra day off of work or school this weekend? I do, and I’m so excited for it. I need a mental break from work! I don’t have anything planned since Korri will be working, but sometimes no plans end up being the best kind of plans. I’m excited to just chill…and maybe be somewhat productive and do some house chores, haha. (We’ll see.)
