Greenery
This is one color combination that I don't wear very often—if ever! The closest outfit featuring only green and black that I found is this one from fall 2016, and that outfit includes white and grey...so I don't think I've ever worn solely green and black in one outfit before. Even though the combo is different for me, I don't hate it! I kind of wish I had the hindsight to wear this for St. Patrick's Day next week, but maybe I just need to wear it again. ;)
In my previous outfit post, I wrote about how adding one new garment can spark a multitude of new outfit ideas, and I think trying new color combinations also helps me get out of the wardrobe rut I seem to always find myself in at the end of winter. This outfit came together unexpectedly, and that's the most fun part about it! I first decided that I wanted to wear the blazer, shirt, and pants together, and then it came time to decide on shoes. I ended up going with black flats versus ankle boots after trying on both options because I wanted a little bit of skin showing for contrast.
Since the foliage around here is still looking quite dead, wearing this outfit made me look forward even more to when everything is green and back in bloom. Soon, hopefully! On a spring-related note, Daylight Saving Time starts on Sunday! I am very excited that now it will be lighter out later in the evening, though I do think it will be more difficult to get out of bed for work when it's still dark in the morning...haha.
