One of the most fun parts of being a style blogger is thinking of backgrounds that go with the outfit I'm wearing. Most of the time, I don't really care that much, but sometimes I have a vision in my head of the overall "look" I'm going for. For example, if it's something I wore to work, I typically want a more urban/industrial background. Since I wore my tropical-print shirt here, I figured it'd be fun to shoot with summer foliage—nothing tropical, though, since I'm in Idaho after all. ;) I was honestly surprised at how good these flowers looked after a couple weeks of temps at or above 100°F!
This outfit feels a little bit like a juxtaposition with the collared silk shirt and casual cotton-linen shorts. The shirt "dresses up" the shorts, while the shorts "dress down" the shirt. Add gold sandals for a little bit of fun and you got yourself an outfit! I've worn these sandals so much this summer. I love that they appear like a neutral against my skin tone (I haven't tanned at all!) and work well with any look.
