Late summer classics
One can never go wrong with an outfit made up of wardrobe classics! For me, that's a striped shirt (in blue, naturally), a pair of boyfriend jeans that fit perfectly loose, and simple black ballet flats. I added the belt for a matching element. Normally I would not pair black with light blue because of the high contrast, but here I like it because the black isn't too bold; it's not distracting my eyes. I tried this outfit with my black oxfords and the look felt too heavy overall. The flats allow more of my skin to show so it's not such a harsh contrast. I left the top button on my shirt undone so a simple gold necklace could peek through (you know, to go with the gold belt buckle...ha!). I felt totally confident at work, though I did wear a cardigan to keep warm and had to re-tuck my shirt every time I used the restroom... ;)
This outfit was inspired by one I saw and saved on Pinterest. I've been trying to get back into Pinterest since I realized that the majority of the referrals I get from social media are from Pinterest (it's the highest of any social media—10 times higher than any other!). I stopped paying much attention to Pinterest a couple of years ago when it felt nearly impossible to grow, but they must have changed something since then because I'm gaining followers and my pins are being repinned somewhat steadily. I figure it's time to start focusing more over there to see what happens! I have absolutely NO strategy, though, LOL.
