Fancy in Faux Fur
When I bought this coat a year ago, I was dying to wear it to The Nutcracker. Korri and I see the ballet every year as a Christmas tradition (it’s one I’ve been doing for years!). Now that I think about it, that’s one album I forgot to include in my list of Christmas favorites…but to be fair, even though I love the music, I don’t find myself listening to it that much haha. Maybe I should add it to my playlist…
Anyway, I didn’t get to wear the coat last year because it was precipitating and I don’t wear it if there’s a threat of rain or snow. It was also freezing cold! Luckily, this year we had an abnormally warm and dry weekend (it hit 60°F yesterday for the first full day of winter which is basically unheard of here), and I was finally able to wear my coat to see The Nutcracker! I didn’t even need to wear long sleeves underneath because it was so warm (for it being winter, at least). Thank goodness. ;)
I only have this one LBD, and it’s my go-to dress for fancier occasions. This is actually the third year in a row that I wore it to see The Nutcracker, and the last time I blogged it was when I wore it to see the ballet in SLC two years ago! I added tights because it wasn’t that warm out and finished the look with my amber velvet ankle boots to serve as a bookend to the brown coat. Of course, I needed a little bit of bling, too! I love pulling out my statement earrings during the holidays.
Hope you have a very merry Christmas or happy Hanukkah (or Kwanzaa!) if you celebrate, and I’ll be back here on Friday! :) xoxo
