Comfort classics
This outfit is in the running for my favorite outfit of this winter! It’s made up of so many favorite items: a fun pom-pom beanie (black goes with everything so I wear it all of the time), a cashmere waffle knit sweater (forever a fan of Everlane’s cashmere—especially when it’s textured), olive green skinny jeans (I knew I would like them but I didn’t realize just how much I would enjoy wearing them), and, of course, a pair of ankle boots (I opted for the pair with the wood heel so they wouldn’t look too heavy with the rest of the outfit). I hadn’t yet blogged the cashmere scarf, but I love how it goes with the pom-pom and offers a tonal element when paired with the ivory sweater.
Not only is each item one of my favorites, this color combination also happens to be one I love, and I’ve talked about it before (mostly recently when I wore it during my style sudoku with the same beanie and jeans). I think I love it so much because it’s classic yet earthy and mimics what nature looks like at this time of year (I’m thinking of snow-covered pine trees). Wearing an outfit with so many elements that I love gives me not only comfort but also confidence. Now I just need to figure out how to feel this way about all of my outfits!
