Rainy day work style
Well, we had a few days that started off as winter with morning snow showers blanketing the road just enough to slow everyone down for the commute but that ended in melted snow or rain. After that, winter disappeared for a couple of days and we got slammed with rain in the valley (well, relatively speaking, haha; we don’t get a lot of rain at once usually) while the mountains got a mountain of snow. The 100% chance of rain in the forecast for those days led me to wear a pair of rain boots to work.
I’m not typically the type of person to wear one pair of shoes to/from work and a different pair of shoes once inside. I’ve done it before with snow boots, but it doesn’t happen that often because I’m lazy and don’t want to lug another bag with the other pair of shoes. Yes, my feet sweat a little bit during the day, especially in the rubber boots, but wool socks help to wick the moisture away. (My favorites are pretty much anything by Smartwool.)
I dressed up this rainy day outfit for work by adding the sweater blazer instead of something slightly more casual like a thick cardigan. I make one small cuff on my sweater blazers because the sleeves hit at kind of an awkward length on me, and I love that they allow for a fun long-sleeved top to peek out from underneath. FYI: J.Crew extended their Presidents’ Day sale and you can get this sweater blazer for only $75! That’s almost 50% off the regular price of $138. (I bought mine at 40% off!)
