Light as air
I check Everlane’s “Coming Soon” page regularly, and when I saw the latest additions to their “air” collection of tops launching this month, I immediately added myself to the wait list. I ended up selecting the air ruched blouse in white multi stripe as part of my partnership with Everlane (still pinching myself!). I was drawn to the oversized yet feminine shape, and the light stripes were the perfect complement, especially for summer.
This billowy blouse was made to tuck into all of the high-rise garments. I paired it first with this old denim skirt, and I also have plans to wear it with the straight leg crops from the previous post. Plus jeans, shorts…the list goes on! I’m not sure if I’ll end up wearing it untucked ever…it feels slightly overpowering when not fully tucked in, probably because I’m short. It’s a little bit of work to get the tuck just right, but it’s worth the effort.
I originally ordered this blouse in my usual size 0, but it felt larger than I had anticipated and the neckline was nearly falling off of my broad shoulders, so I exchanged it for a 00. The fit is (obviously) still billowy and oversized but not in an overwhelming way. It really does feel light as air. It’s so easy to wear and excellent for the warmer months! I didn’t find it to be see-through with a nude-to-me bra (here I wasn’t wearing any other layers underneath). The blouse also comes in a couple of other colors, and I also liked the look of the air collarless blouse, which is also available in white multi stripe and other colorways (see widget below). More colors in the air ruched blouse are coming later this month!
