Same Old, Same Old
I’m trying really hard to not fall into a style rut, but this time of year is one of the hardest for me in terms of inspiration. Similarly, I also struggle with putting together “cute” outfits at the end of summer. Both winter and summer tend to just drag on and it sucks the motivation out of me! If I didn’t have a blog, I’m not sure what I’d be wearing…probably the same three sweaters and three pairs of jeans over and over again, haha. I try to put some effort in because I love sharing new outfit combos here, but every once in a while a less inspiring outfit (ahem…see above) happens and I’m like…welp, this is real real life. A simple black, ivory, and grey outfit isn’t groundbreaking but it’s what I wore!
I will say that the stars of this look are my washed black skinny jeans and my shiny black ankle boots. I never could have predicted how much I would wear (and love to wear) these jeans! One of the reasons why I’ve been struggling coming up with new outfits is that I want to wear these jeans in every outfit, haha. My boyfriend jeans (last seen here) are still my most comfortable pair of Everlane jeans, but these are a close second.
And my boots were a bit of an impulse purchase a few years ago that ended up being wardrobe workhorses. (Kinda tempted to write a post about my impulse-purchases-turned-wardrobe-workhorses now!) I lovingly refer to them as my “boss boots”—and even though they aren’t by Everlane, they do look quite similar to Everlane’s Boss boots! They’re still going strong all these years later, and I pull them out constantly in the fall and winter (and spring).
