First thing’s first: What went down at the U.S. Capitol a week ago was nothing short of heinous. It makes me sick to my stomach that the current president purposefully incited a riot that let to violence and death and that he encouraged his followers to overthrow the government. These people were out for blood, and I am appalled at the Republican Congress member’s involvement in the riot and their apparent lack of will to remove him from office. If you’re nervous about the inauguration, I’m right there with you.
Please contact your Congress members via Resistbot (text RESIST to 50409 to get started) and urge them to impeach and convict the president (the House impeaches, the Senate convicts). The House is voting on impeachment TODAY, January 13th. It is extremely important that the Senate convicts the president because he will not be allowed to run for any federal office in the future if he is convicted.
More from the 6th: Unfortunately, yet unsurprisingly, Black police officers faced racism from the unrelenting white supremacist mob (via Buzzfeed News).
100% of the jobs lost in December were held by women (via CNBC). Latina and Black women are experiencing an unemployment rate HIGHER than that of women overall.

The college gymnastics season kicked off last weekend! To say I’m excited would be an understatement. Korri and I are playing in our own fantasy gymnastics league, which is really fun because we’re both competitive. Since it’s just the two of us, our teams are chock full of amazing gymnasts (even after imposing some restrictions)! Read my post on why I love college gymnastics and tune in for the Utah at Oklahoma meet on Sunday, January 17th on ESPN2!
I’m dying to know what your egg strategy is—let me know in the comments! I’m sometimes lawful good, sometimes true neutral.

Cathy and Jessica of The Blog Societies recently held an SEO workshop perfect for bloggers, and it is by far the most helpful SEO workshop I’ve ever taken. They walk through exactly what to look at in your backend and how to plan content, keyword research, where to put keywords in your blog post, and more. This is the first SEO workshop I’ve taken where they actually walk through putting together a highly SEO-ed blog post, and I found it incredibly helpful as I update my own posts! I’ve updated a few but was worried I wasn’t doing it correctly and wasting my time so I’m very glad I took this workshop, and I highly recommend it to other bloggers.
