Cold weather comfort / casual winter outfit idea with Uniqlo coat, Grana sweater, Madewell curvy jeans, Blondo boots — Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

It’s that time of year again: I’m feeling incredibly uninspired to wear anything except for all of the things that feel good and bring me comfort. I think it’s even worse now that I’m working from home because I’m just wearing the same sweaters/pullovers and leggings/sweats every day! There’s just something about cold and dark January that always puts me in an outfit funk… Are you the same way? Or does the start of a new year reenergize your creativity?

When I do end up leaving the house, it’s been incredibly difficult for me to put together cute and thoughtful outfits. I just grab a bunch of items that somewhat go together and wear them! Case in point: This outfit. I picked out my new Grana cashmere sweater because it’s soft and comforting, and I also wore my Madewell curvy Roadtripper skinny jeans because they’re stretchy and super forgiving in the midsection—exactly what I needed. In hindsight, I would have probably swapped out the grey ankle boots for my red ankle boots (or maybe my black ankle boots with the wood heel, which would go with the color of the faux fur). I didn’t try this outfit on with either of those boots before leaving the house.

The worst part about being a style blogger (other than shooting outside in the dead of winter!) and WANTING to put together outfit posts is feeling uninspired by my clothes and the outfits I put together. I’m in an outfit funk and trying to get out of it! Normally I’d do another style sudoku (a type of short-term capsule wardrobe) to get my head back in the game but I’m feeling totally unmotivated to do that. Anyway, fingers crossed I get out of my funk soon. In other news, it’s officially January 20th and we all know what that means: Inauguration Day! Time for a lil celebratory champagne!!! 🍾🥂(I’m still nervous about how the day will go but overall feeling excited and so relieved!)
