Sweatpants you can (probably) wear to work (yes, really!)

Everlane wide leg track pant | sweatpants you can wear to work | Cotton Cashmere Cat Hair

Would you believe me if I told you I was wearing what are essentially sweatpants? I tried on this outfit and asked Korri if he thought I could wear this to work, and he looked at me like I was an idiot…like of COURSE I could wear this to work, what am I talking about?! 🤫🤣

I’m so excited to chat more about these sweatpants that are (probably) office-worthy! First…did you notice the hair?! I got it cut before our trip to Mexico! It looked so good right after the cut when it was all styled—naturally—then I slept on it, and somehow it still looked pretty good so I demanded that we shoot outfits. And I’m glad we did because it’s been COLD since we’ve been back!

Besides the new ‘do, the real star of the show here is my pants! Let me tell you, when I first saw these pants, I didn’t think they were loungewear at all. And then when I realized they were loungewear, I wanted to see them in person to really decide on if I thought they could work for the office or if it was just the stock photos making me think they looked nicer than they are.

EVERLANE WIDE LEG TRACK PANT

The Everlane wide leg track pant is made from 100% organic cotton and features a hidden drawstring (on the interior of the waistband) and side pockets. The rise is decently high (comes just up to my belly button) but I sort of wish it were higher. The inseam is 27”, which is about an inch longer than I usually go for, but that makes them better for wearing with boots. I ordered the heathered mid-grey color, but if you want them to look even more office-appropriate, I’d go with black. They do get a little wrinkly with wear which might give away the secret!

I took these pants in size small, which fits comfortably; they’re not too tight and they’re not too loose. I didn’t have the waistband tightened here.

For this casual workwear outfit, I mixed my greys and paired it with my light heather grey sweater blazer from J.Crew (unfortunately, the style I’m wearing—the Sophie—is being discontinued, but the new Eloise sweater blazer looks to be the replacement in a slightly updated style). I stuck with the monochrome theme by adding a striped tee (mine is sooo old!) and fun pointed ankle boots.

I can honestly say that you can (probably) get away with wearing these sweatpants to work. I say probably because it obviously depends on your dress code, but if it’s anything like mine—more on the casual side of business casual—I bet you could get away with it. Even more so if you buy ‘em in black!

Full disclosure: I actually haven’t worn these pants to work…yet. But I think I’m going to wear them this week because of the holidays and the fact that there won’t be many people in the office!

Would you be able to wear these pants to your office? How would you style them? Are there any other sweatpants that look put-together enough for a smart casual office? (Share ‘em, please!!!)
