12 Best Brunch Spots in Boise, Idaho

(according to Boise locals!)

A CAFÉ • 10th Street, downtown Boise

Pronounced like “aye café”, a café is a relatively new eatery located in downtown Boise, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite places to eat any time of day! I’ll admit that I haven’t technically eaten brunch here, but Korri and I discovered their breakfast burritos when they were offered as part of a dinner special, and we are obsessed. OBSESSED. It’s the best in Boise! They’re full of eggs, potatoes, and beans and are huge and so delicious. I always add avocado to mine, and Korri likes adding avocado and bacon. You may not see them on the menu but ask and see if they can whip one up—they usually can! Try it, you won’t regret it! (The buttermilk scenario salad is also yummy!) a café is open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sundays.

ADDIE’S • Boise Avenue, south of Boise State University

Addie’s location near the university makes it a popular spot for college students. This is a favorite place to go for a classic American breakfast. I’m pretty boring and typically go for some sort of egg combo meal or omelet…or French toast if I’m feeling something sweet! Addie’s is open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week.

BACON • 9th Street, downtown Boise

If you’re a bacon fan, look no further! I highly recommend the bacon shots—a taster featuring five different flavored bacon (spicy hot is my personal favorite). You can’t go wrong with a good bacon, eggs, and potatoes breakfast. More lunch-y options are also available if you’re not in the breakfast mood. Bacon also offers a full bar (get your Bloody Mary!) and is open for breakfast and brunch 7 days a week.

BARDENAY • Old Boise (Grove Street), downtown Boise

Bardenay is one of our absolute favorite brunch spots! We eat there any time of day, but they do brunch exceptionally well. I love the classic Bardenay breakfast with scrambled eggs, ham, and potatoes, but if I’m feeling something sweet I go for the French toast. Korri is obsessed with their spicy chicken bacon eggs benedict. Don’t forget a mimosa and/or Mexican coffee cocktail, either! Bardenay is open for brunch on Sunday mornings and lunch, dinner, and late night 7 days a week. There is also a location in Eagle, northwest of Boise.

CERTIFIED KITCHEN AND BAKERY • Hyde Park, north Boise

Hyde Park is a small neighborhood shopping and social area that features restaurants, local shops, and more! We picked up brunch a few weeks ago and loved it. I ordered the huevos ranchero burrito—yum! Don’t forget to pick up a half dozen of their famous house-made English muffins, too. I think we ate them all in one day! Certified is open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week.

Eggman and Earl • Boise Avenue, Southeast Boise

Eggman and Earl is a tiny little restaurant located at the corner of Boise Avenue and Apple Street in southeast Boise offering eclectic decor and delicious breakfasts! I’ve heard only great things from my family and can’t wait to try it for myself. If you’re looking for a heaping omelet and pile of hashbrowns, this is the place to go. Or maybe you’d prefer a plate-sized pancake? Their specials even include streaks! Eggman and Earl is open daily for breakfast and lunch.

FORK • 8th Street, downtown Boise

Fork is known for their unique and local cuisine and is a fan favorite! I actually have not personally had brunch here, but the dinners I’ve eaten at Fork have been fantastic. I’ve heard amazing things about their brunch and cannot wait to try it! I’ve got my eyes on a frosé (or should I do build-your-own mimosas?!) and the BAM omelet! If you love Bloody Mary’s, Fork has those. Fork is open for brunch, lunch, and dinner 7 days a week.

GOLDY’S • Old Boise (Capitol Blvd), downtown Boise

Another favorite for classic American breakfast is Goldy’s. This might be the most popular breakfast spot in all of Boise! In pre-pandemic times, you’d often find a line of people out the down and down Capitol Boulevard waiting to get into the small space. Hungry? Order one of their breakfast burritos! They’re giant! I typically go for the egg scramble or malted waffle. Goldy’s is open for breakfast and brunch 7 days a week.

Stardust • Main Street, Downtown Boise

Stardust is one of the newest additions to downtown Boise (they are in the space that used to be occupied by Asiago’s at the corner of Main Street and 10th). If you’re looking for a somewhat fancier Boise brunch experience in an upscale, mid-century modern restaurant (that also has a patio), Stardust is your place! I very much enjoyed my two egg breakfast with ham—and I substituted the toast or biscuits for the herb salad with arugula, highly recommend it! Be prepared to spend a little more money than you might at other spots. Stardust is open daily for brunch from 10 am to 3 pm (except Mondays).

TAVERN AT BOWN • Bown Crossing, southeast Boise

Tavern is right across the street from Locavore and offers a Sunday brunch. As you can probably tell by now, I typically go for a classic breakfast with eggs or French toast. Can’t go wrong with either! They also have great burgers and salads if lunch is more your brunch style, and I don’t eat sushi but my family likes their sushi, too. Besides Sunday brunch, Tavern is open for lunch Monday to Saturday and dinner 7 days a week.

Western Proper • Idaho Street, Downtown Boise

Western Proper is owned by the same people as Western Collective, a super fun local brewery in Garden City. Western Proper is located in the heart of downtown Boise and offers Western Collective brews as well as a full restaurant! It has the CUTEST patio for brunching on sunny weekends. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito, and the cinnamon roll French toast was also delicious! Don’t forget the mimosas. Western Proper is open daily in the late afternoons and evenings. Brunch is offered on Saturdays and Sundays.

WILD ROOT • 8th Street, downtown Boise

Wild Root is an excellent option for savory yet healthy brunch! I had the eggs platter when we visited for brunch. Wild Root is a favorite of Korri’s and mine for lunch; we both love the bowls that contain a variety of different flavors and yummy things (Buddha bowls, basically)! Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Wild Root offers breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner (Friday and Saturday nights) and is closed on Mondays.
