Currently: Late Summer Stripes | September 2021
I’m not gonna lie, I definitely threw this outfit together prior to leaving the house over the weekend. It’s a mishmash of old and new favorites (but mostly old—or at least, older). I’ve been reaching for my pull-on shorts from Madewell so much this summer and last, and I decided to buy the same shorts in a size up to allow for some more breathing room, especially since they shrink a little bit in the wash. They do get hella wrinkly, as you can see…and this was from one 5-minute car ride. Lol! Just something to keep in mind if you’ve been looking at getting yourself a pair or two.
I also wanted to wear this shirt that I don’t think I’ve worn all summer. It’s still a favorite—I really love anything that’s blue and white striped. I now have four shirts with that pattern. They’re all slightly different which is how I can justify that many shirts that look similar! This shirt is an oldie from Madewell that I love for its cotton-linen blend. And it goes so well with my clay earrings!
This is probably my most mish-mashy outfit of the summer, but there tends to always be one of those! Haha. Since I don’t have much more to say on that, I’m also sharing what I’m currently up to…

beginning: to re-read a book I read 6 or so years ago and that I remember loving: The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion. I typically don’t re-read books, but I didn’t realize this was the first book of a trilogy and I want to read the rest! So far, it turns out I don’t remember anything that has happened, hahaha. It’s also slightly delaying my progress on my giant TBR list but oh well.
ending: summer style…soon! Kinda hard to believe that fall is right around the corner. The mornings definitely feel cooler, and I’m excited to put out all the cozy layers even if I forgot how to dress for the outside world during the cooler months, haha. We had one particularly chilly morning where I thought, “Wait? Should I wear a coat???” Might be time for another style sudoku in the near future…just to get my creative juices flowing again!
loving: our new king-sized bed! It’s sooo nice to have all the extra space, especially for the cats. LOL. I’ve also really been enjoying the meals we’ve been getting with Sunbasket. We’ve been getting meal kits through Green Chef for years now and have been trying Sunbasket for the past few weeks because we’ve had issues with our Green Chef deliveries nearly every week for a few months now. I still love so many Green Chef recipes, though, and I keep holding out hope that things will go back to how they were before! (And most of the issues we’ve had are delivery delays due to FedEx.)
picking: out bedding for our new bed! That’s the fun part, right?! We came from a queen so we needed all new bedding, and I’m particularly loving what Quince is offering, especially the linen bedding and washable silk pillowcases. Have you ordered from Quince? Let me know if you have and can refer me for $10 off! I’m super intrigued by their clothing offerings and will likely place an order for some of those products soon, too.
posting: (or trying to post) consistently on my social media channels! It’s been a struggle for me in the past to stay consistent with sharing blog posts and such on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I’ve been in a pretty good groove this past month with FB and Twitter, and Instagram was going well but got derailed there for a few days. Not sure how much being consistent is helping me grow but I’m proud that I was able to make it happen! On the blog side, I have a couple more fabulous ladies and blogging friends in the Working Woman Style series coming soon!
