Currently: Winter is Here | January 2022
Since the last Currently post, winter has made itself known. It snowed the day after we returned home from Cabo (what a warm welcome!), then it snowed again over Christmas, and then it really snowed the week following Christmas. It’s just been one storm after another since then. (It’s probably snowing again as I write this but I don’t want to look outside LOL. I’m so over it!)
I’ve decided that the only people that like snow are the people that don’t have to drive in it. Our road clearing is…not as great as it should be given that we get real winters here in Boise. I’ve had too many not-fun commutes to work and back these past couple of weeks. I’m just happy I finally have a new set of winter tires on my car, but I still worry about the drivers around me!
As much as I hate driving in snow, I was pretty adamant about shooting outfits in the snow, if not for proof that it does snow here every once in a while! Plus, I like documenting the outfits I actually wear in the conditions in which I wear them, haha. It was approximately 16°F when we shot these photos and I couldn’t tell if I was smiling or not by the end, my face was so cold! Thank goodness for puffy coats, scarves, and cozy boots.
I joined Anne’s currently link up this month to share what else I’m up to right now!

anticipating: the college gymnastics season! It was supposed to start tonight, but unfortunately the first meet was postponed due to COVID issues in one of the programs. As of now, I think 7 teams have pulled out of meets this weekend, and I am: sad. Of course, I hope everyone stays safe and healthy because that’s most important! Fingers crossed the remaining meets can happen this weekend and that the rest of the season goes a little smoother.
organizing: nothing that I can think of, but I do have a lot of organization projects I want to do! And that I’ve wanted to do for a long time! I also recently got a new planner from Golden Coil that’s making me feel all kinds of organized with blogging-related tasks.
reading: Built to Belong by Natalie Franke! I started it a couple of months ago and am slowly working my way through it. I just finished The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett yesterday! I’ve now borrowed two books through my public library, and it’s been awesome (but it does result in me pushing back my physical book reading because of the 2-week return deadlines haha). My next Reading Lately post will be up soon, and you can add me as a friend on StoryGraph, where I’ll be tracking my reads! (My username is cottoncashmerecathair.)
resolving: also nothing…I didn’t make any New Year’s Resolutions this year. I do have big plans for the blog, but I haven’t actually written anything down so those just live in my head for now! (I’m scared to write things down because I feel like I never reach my goals if I write them down lol.) I have been working very hard lately and I’m more determined now than ever!
scheduling: Pinterest pins, right at this moment. LOL. Life of a blogger! Other than that… I need to schedule an appointment with a new OB/GYN since I’m due to have my IUD removed this spring. I am TERRIFIED because insertion was so traumatizing for me. I also don’t love having an IUD, so I would like to discuss other options. I feel like the OB/GYNs I get always leave and it’s obnoxious and exhausting to have to find new ones and hope I feel comfortable around them. Sigh.
