Desk to Dinner: Everlane Dream Pant
I’ll be honest: I wasn’t drawn to The Dream Pant by Everlane when it was first released. I wasn’t a big fan of the seam down the pant legs in the stock photos. But a few weeks ago, I had a coupon to use, and after reading countless positive reviews, I finally ordered the pants. And here we are! Y’all, I’m a convert. These really are the dreamiest work pants!
When putting together this outfit, I liked both the blazer AND the moto jacket and couldn’t pick—so you get a 2-for-1! This is the perfect outfit to take you from the desk to dinner (and/or drinks!).

The Everlane Dream Pant is the best type of work pant: They feel like sweatpants and look like regular work pants! These photos were taken after I had worn them for a couple of days, and you can see that for the most part, they’ve kept their shape (no major bagging out around the knees). I can sit cross-legged at my desk! They’re also pretty wrinkle resistant, which bodes well for work travel!
What to Wear to the Office
Because the Dream Pant makes a great work pant, I of course had to style them for the office! I’ve worn them to work a few times already, and they really look good with anything you throw on top of them. Because the shape is looser than skinny jeans (my default “work pants”), I’ve been reaching for somewhat slimmer tops (a bodysuit + blazer would be the perfect combo), but they also look good if you prefer to wear a loose sweater or top.
I don’t currently own a bodysuit, so I opted for a basic tee underneath the blazer and tucking the tee into the pants. This is an outfit I’d wear if I had an important meeting or conference to attend (either in person or virtually). Believe it or not, I would feel pretty dressed up if I wore this outfit to work! (But no one would really know how comfortable it is! 😉)
As for colors I’d wear with forest green pants—anything goes! Forest green is one of my favorite colors, and it’s basically a neutral. I went simple with black and off-white for these outfits, but I’d also love them with blues, burgundy, pink, and various shades of brown. I would personally pick at least one lighter color to keep the outfit balanced/not too heavy.
I added to the dressiness with the heeled clog sandals and fun jeweled barrettes. I love leaning into my girly side when dressing for work because I like showing that you can be both girly AND a scientist. They’re not mutually exclusive!

What to Wear to Dinner (or Drinks!)
The Dream Pant may be the perfect work pant, but they really are so much more than that! I really love how they looked dressed down with a faux leather moto jacket instead of a blazer. That added edge really suits them, and they almost don’t even look like work pants when I’m wearing them with a leather jacket.
If you have plans for dinner or drinks or anything else after work, throw a different third piece in your car (or if you’re a commuter, bring a second bag with the jacket tucked inside) so you can do a quick swap and feel ready for the next event. If you need to wear closed-toe shoes to the office, you could also do a shoe swap. With pants like these, because the length hits right above my ankle bone, I’d opt for ballet flats for the office or other shoes that show more of my foot.
Have you tried the Everlane Dream Pant yet? How would you style them for the office and/or a post-work dinner date?
