Spring 2022 Wardrobe Additions
I’m super proud of myself because somehow I only added 10 items to my wardrobe this past spring, and that’s including loungewear! That’s quite a difference from a few years ago. I feel as though my purchases are more intentional now than they were when I first started blogging and tracking my clothing budget. (Thank goodness!)
I also didn’t go that far over budget this past quarter, and the little part I did was easily covered by income earned from Poshmark sales. I believe I had my best month of Poshmark sales EVER in May…I sold 14 items! It was incredible, especially after having no sales for six+ weeks earlier this year. I wish it was like that every month, haha. I still have so many things to list!
Here’s everything I added to my wardrobe this past spring! (I’m slowly adding all of my 2022 clothing purchases to this Pinterest board. Are we friends there yet?!)

Spring 2022 Clothing Budget & Wardrobe Additions
$600 (quarterly budget) = $656 ($372.50 March + $175.50 April + $108 May) - $56 earned from Poshmark sales => $0 left over
Items I added to my wardrobe:
Allbirds Tree Runners (seen here and here | paid $110 (with tax) | originally $105)
My feet were sore after walking thousands of steps in the only pair of shoes I brought to Seattle (ankle boots), and I had a credit card offer to use, so I bought my first pair of Allbirds at the store in Seattle! I love the hazy burgundy colorway. These are my new go-to “running errands” sneakers! I took my true size 7 and am eyeing a second pair.
Amour Vert Frankie Pant (seen here | paid $118 | originally $168)
These are beautiful wide-leg cropped trousers, and the fern color is so bright and lovely for spring and summer. They’re made from a tencel, organic cotton, and linen blend that will be perfect when it warms up! Do keep in mind that the wrinkles can be stubborn; you definitely need an iron (not a steamer) to remove them. I wear a size small.
Everlane The Dream Pant (seen here | paid $66 | originally $88)
I’ll be honest: I wasn’t really drawn to these pants…I’m not super crazy about the seam down the front. But, they have absolutely rave reviews, and I decided to give ‘em a shot! I ordered forest green because I wanted something different that still worked with most of my wardrobe, and after not being sure about the color at first, I now LOVE them and wear them just about every week to work. I took size small (and ordered a second pair in navy!).
Everlane The Track Jogger (seen on IG stories | paid $58 | originally $78)
I had been really wanting a pair of oversized sweatpants. I have lots of pairs of joggers, but all of them are a snug fit, and sometimes I just want to put on a big pair of pants to lounge around the house! These are PERFECT. I ordered the deep blue in size small; the blue is brighter than I was expecting, but they fit exactly as I was hoping!
LOFT Petite Floral Shirred Tie Neck Blouse (seen here | paid $34 | originally $64.50)
I saw this blouse on a blogger I follow and snatched it up when it was on sale for 50% off and free shipping! I love the print so much. The fabric itself is kind of stiff/structured and not drapey at all, so it’s not easy to tuck. I ordered size small petite, which was the right choice as the petite size is a little shorter in length. It is boxy (I love that but I know some folks don’t).
Madewell Cali Demi-Boot Jeans in Dorrance Wash: TENCEL™ Denim Edition (seen here | paid $91 | originally $138)
I basically only ordered these jeans because I love the Cali demi-boot style, and I am a sucker for tencel denim! It’s so comfy! Admittedly, this pair is not as stretchy as my other tencel denim, but I’m still a fan. I ordered size 26 and it’s borderline too small when I’m bloated.
Madewell Curvy High-Rise Denim Shorts in Lunar Wash (paid $39 | originally $69.50)
I found myself in a position where none of my denim shorts really fit all that well, so I used a reward on these. I try to buy curvy denim as much as possible, and these are perfect! I’m in between size 26 and 27 and tried both sizes but ended up keeping size 27. It’s nice to not feel restricted in the waist when I sit down.
Madewell Lightspun Easy Pull-On Shorts (review here | paid $39.50 | originally $49.50)
I ordered a bunch of lightspun items to try, and while I was tempted to keep everything, I ended up returning everything except for the shorts in black coal. They’re so comfy and will be perfect work from home attire as well as for weekend outings. I bought size small.
Madewell Tank Thong Bodysuit (seen here | paid $31.50 | originally $39.50)
I’ve been on the hunt for a good bodysuit to wear with wide leg pants, paperbag pants/shorts, skirts, etc. I used to have a long-sleeved bodysuit from Madewell but it was too tight in size XS. I ordered this one in a small and it feels a touch big (it comes down lower in the front than I wish it did, and the excessive stretch doesn’t help), but size XS would be too tight on my hips. This works for now but I am open to bodysuit recommendations!
MATE the Label Organic Thermal Boxy Crop (paid $69 | originally $98)
Last year was the first year I shopped MATE the Label’s May sale, and it’s now something I plan to shop every year! Their products rarely go on sale, and I’ve loved everything I’ve tried so far. (I especially love their sleepwear!) Even though the prices are hard to swallow, everything feels so luxe. I own this top in ivory and went back for sedona this year. I wear this in size XS.
Items I tried and returned:
Even though I wanted to keep everything from my big lightspun order, I pretty quickly knew that the balloon pants weren’t going to work for me. The color I ordered (dried flax) didn’t work with my skin tone. I wish they came in a different color, like navy! I tried both regular and petite lengths and would have gone with the regular length.
I really wanted the joggers to work out because they were so comfy, but I just didn’t love how much they billowed around the hips and how low the pockets were. I tried two sizes in deep indigo, XS and small, and I would’ve kept the XS because they were plenty roomy around the waist and hips.
I was really close to keeping this jumpsuit because it’s so fun (and I don’t own a jumpsuit), but ultimately I hate a really hard time getting it on and off, and the slightly dropped shoulder seams didn’t look great on my already broad shoulders. I tried the coastal blue color in size 2.
What’s on deck for summer:
I took advantage of Everlane’s Memorial Day sale to order one of my favorite pairs of sandals ever in black, and I also re-ordered the cream pair in my usual size 7. Last year I purchased the cream color in size 7.5, and while they work, they feel like they’re going to fall off my feet. I need my sandals to feel more secure on my feet!
Well, I love my forest green dream pants so much that I feel the need to add another color! I don’t need another pair of black pants, so instead I opted for navy. Navy pants can be tricky for me but I’m hoping they’ll work! I’m going to lean into the nautical vibes with striped tees of various colors.
I ordered these shorts in two colors, bone and adobe brown, in size 4. My old pair of twill shorts (in bone) no longer fit, and I also was drawn to the brown (I’ve got a thing for browns lately!). I also really like the ash brown color, so if I don’t absolutely love adobe brown I may exchange for that color instead.
I literally bought this yesterday as soon as I received the email! I love swing dresses, especially because they’re forgiving in the midsection, so I’m excited to try this dress. I ordered terracotta, size small.
At the same time, I ordered yet another swing dress. Haha. I purchased this dress in brown, size small. Like I said, I have this thing with brown right now! Fingers crossed I love it.
