Cropped Sweatshirt + Striped Shorts
Remember how I said on Monday that Boise was in a weather rollercoaster? It continued this week! While we are currently back in the upper 80s/near 90s, we’ve had a couple of days recently that barely reached 60! It’s pretty wild for this time of year, but I’ll take it. For those fleeting, in-between 70-degree days, I looove wearing long sleeves with shorts. I’ve talked about this multiple times on the blog in the past but it’s always worth mentioning again because I love these outfits so much.
This summer outfit is a fun one! It features my favorite long sleeve + shorts combination (with a fun variation: a cropped sweatshirt), a pretty pastel color combination, and the most comfortable summer sandals. I ended up wearing this outfit to see Iliza Schlesinger live! I purchased tickets for her tour back in November 2019 with the original date of the show in March 2020 (eeep). It was rescheduled four times and my show finally happened last weekend! It was my first live comedy show EVER and so much fun!!!
Cropped Sweatshirt + Striped Shorts Summer Outfit
When I was putting together this outfit, I was trying on a bunch of different long-sleeve top and shorts combinations and none of them felt quite right…until I remembered that I had cropped sweatshirts in my closet. I settled on the pink sweatshirt (I have the same sweatshirt in olive) because it coordinated perfectly with my pink sandals! (You know me, always #matchymatchy!)
I’ll forever be grateful for high-rise shorts (and pants) because they make it so easy to pair with cropped sweatshirts and other tops! (Now I need to make a note to myself to re-read this post in 10 years to see if my feelings have changed, haha.)
As a petite woman (side note: I just went to the doctor and noticed they have my height listed as 5’3.5” when I thought I was 5’4” this whole time), the cropped top and high-rise trends have been a godsend because both hit right at my natural waist. I tend to stick to items that overlap at least a little bit so as to not show any midriff. I feel like I look taller when I wear this outfit combination. What do you think? Are you convinced?! 😉
