We are riding the fall weather rollercoaster here in Boise as of late! We hit a new record high temperature this week (95 degrees F) and followed that up with a cold front that dropped the temperatures into the 70s. This is the time of year where I can’t really put away my summer items (not that I do a real closet switchover, but I have started packing away shorts to give myself more shelf space), but I need to also mix in some sweaters. It’s fun. 🤪

Jokes aside, it actually is quite a lot of fun to dress for the ups and downs of fall weather! I threw on this outfit to go out to lunch when my mom was in town last weekend, and I loved it so much that I made Korri photograph it to share here. Black (faux) leather jackets and nerdy science graphic tees are a match made in fall heaven!

Black Leather Jacket Outfit Idea with a Nerdy Science Graphic Tee!

I have a soft spot for nerdy science graphic tees, and when I spotted this one online at Target, I immediately added it to my cart. (Okay, first I had to read the size chart a few times to figure out what size I take in little boys’ tees, LOL. I took a size XL and am normally a women’s small for reference!) Is a graphic tee of the earth’s atmosphere not the most PERFECT graphic tee for me, an atmospheric scientist?! I had to have it. Plus, the price can’t be beat.

Obviously, the graphics on the actual graphic tee aren’t to scale, but I’m willing to put that aside because it’s just so dang cute. I immediately had visions of putting some edge into this outfit by adding a pair of washed black denim, black sandals (because it was warm enough for sandals!), and throwing on my black faux leather moto jacket on top (because it was also cool enough for a leather jacket, of course). My olive green ball cap added some additional color.
